Owing to the outbreak of disturbances at Kuong
Tung, troops are required to be sent to the various places
to maintain military order, and in order to expedite the
matter this Canton Kowloon Hallway will be required for
transportation of troops etc. Therefore this Railway
should, in accordance with the Agreement, suspend traffic
from 1 p.m. today to 1 p.m. the 12th instant, and be in
readiness for use of military purposes.
As to the lose caused by suspensxiion of traffic
it will be dealt with in accordance with the terms of the
agreement.
Besides communicating this matter by wire to
H.. the Governor of Hongkong to whom I have also wired
to the Board of posts and Communications requesting them
to address, and I herewith write this to you for your
information.
